This passion ignited Love Payne Productions in 2016, a platform to champion his work and that of other artists. Ty-Quan's commitment to the craft extends to nurturing actors, guiding them to unlock their full potential through personalized coaching.
He honed his skills at SUNY Purchase College, studying with renowned instructors like Lenora Champagne and David Bassuk, and further refined his talent through intensive acting conservatories. Under the mentorship of Faye Simpson, whose influence has shaped acclaimed actors like Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke, Ty-Quan deepened his understanding of the actor's journey. His dedication led him to extensive training at prestigious institutions like the Atlantic Theater Company and the National Actors Retreat (HBMG Foundation).
Ty-Quan's artistry shines through diverse roles in productions such as Thoughts of a Colored Man with Royal Family Productions. He's a multi-faceted theater maker, writing, directing, and producing off-Broadway shows like the award-winning plays The Wedding and The Rat Sandwich. His creative reach extends to guest appearances on the American Playbook Podcast and collaborations with community-based organizations like Mass Transit Street Theater in the Bronx, where he created impactful productions such as Courtesy, Professionalism, Respect, and Solid Ground.
Driven by insatiable curiosity, a love of beauty, and a darkly humorous perspective, Ty-Quan crafts characters and stories that delve into humanity's raw vulnerabilities.
